Until Filled CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE The Champaign County Public Defender's Office is seeking a Legal Secretary.
Job responsibilities include answering telephones as needed, interacting with clients and their families in a polite and patient manner, composing routine correspondence, and maintaining office files and records.
Applicants must possess a high school degree or GED and be familiar with basic computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
The Office provides on-site and ongoing training and encourages a work-life balance.
Minimum salary is $17.
43 per hour with increase possible depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a union position and offers benefits such as health insurance, retirement (IMRF), and paid time off.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
