This physical location for this job can be either in the CVI Urbana location, Ste 201 or CVI Danville, Ste 206 location.
POSITION
Summary:
The Surgery Scheduler assists, informs, and supports patients and their families throughout the entire procedure process.
The position is responsible to return all voicemails in a timely manner, while maintaining a courteous and professional attitude managing a demanding incoming call volume.
Prior to all procedures, the scheduler is responsible for scheduling the procedures, scheduling pre-op appointments, making prior day procedure reminder calls, obtaining prior authorizations if needed, and reviewing, processing, and following up on provider referrals by way of electronic medical record (EMR), fax and phone.
The position has a significant responsibility in ensuring all pertinent information about an upcoming procedure has been communicated to the patient and all appropriate parties.

Qualifications:
o Education - High school or GED equivalent o Excellent customer service skills as demonstrated in past work experience o Strong verbal and written communication skills o 6 months experience in a clinical setting o Typing, filing, telephone skills o Basic Microsoft application basic proficiency PREFERRED
Qualifications:
o Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems Other skills/knowledge - o A base line medical terminology course must be completed within 180 days of beginning employment OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
